About Us - Paul and Zach

We founded Zinala Baking Supply in 2020 to provide high-quality, American-made baking supplies to professional and at-home bakers. All our products are manufactured and distributed out of our factory in Brooklyn, NY.
Originally from Chicago, Zach's decade-long love for baking inspired him to create Zinala, a name borrowed from his grandfather's family farm in Illinois. His experience in industrial design and entrepreneurship has allowed him to engineer and package solutions to the issues he saw in traditional baking setups.
Born and raised in New York City, Paul's love for woodworking, his experience building and fabricating, and his background in design and mathematics are all channeled through Zinala. Growing up with the New York baking scene, Paul's lifelong residency in New York grounds Zinala in its baking identity.
Since 2020, we've worked on perfecting our first product: the wood pulp banneton. Zinala's proprietary recipe, tested and developed over four years, provides unparalleled moisture absorption, strength, and ease of use. Every banneton we ship carries a human touch that so many mass-manufactured kitchen goods lack, and we hope this is communicated through our product.
